Courses now available, starting mid-October!
Created by funetics and England Athletics to help young people (14 years+) and adults support athletics coaches in the delivery of fun and inclusive athletics for children in current or new junior sections in clubs or in the local community.
The funetics Leaders Certificate is also an opportunity for anyone to marry their interest in athletics with an interest or goal in developing their general leadership skills.
NEW! funetics programme developments to help your club
We have listened and we have made improvements to better suit the needs of some of our England Athletics Affiliated Clubs.
Launching in New Year (2022), the new funetics Leaders certificate to enable more members (younger members, parents or volunteers) to support your club deliver funetics
• Help reduce waiting lists for junior sessions or add more junior section capacity.
• Help with connecting with local schools to develop club-school links.
• New activity sheets - taking the total to over 100.
Support your members’ children within your community with funetics
As an affiliated club, your kids athletics club has an opportunity to secure a free funetics licence and in doing so, help support your members' children and help to attract new children from within your local community; as well as helping to build the profile of athletics and running.
Opportunities and benefits for your club
Putting young children first:
• funetics sessions are regular, and typically run for a block of 7-14 weeks. This includes 6 weeks of coaching sessions followed by a competition week on week 7
• funetics children enjoy activities that are designed to be fun; dynamic, interactive and safe; so they continue to return to sessions
• Children at your athletics club are able to beat their own personal bests during competitions in the last week of the sessions, inspiring them to grow and develop
Support from England Athletics that you know and trust:
• Easy to use, dynamic platform to manage sessions and access resources helping you to deliver funetics easily
• Robust, tailored and easily accessible resources available online and via the Coaches' app
• A parents' app allowing them to keep track of bookings and monitor progress and track achievements of their child/children
• Coaching, training and education support
funetics licences for clubs
funetics licences are available to England Athletics affiliated clubs at a special rate:
Costs involve paying a 20% booking fee only - no licence charges.
In addition, your club:
- Could generate additional income up to £15,000
- Have the opportunity to help grow your membership
