funetics has joined forces with icoachkids

Announced today at the icoachkids International Conference 2020, icoachkids and England Athletics (including funetics) have signed a project supporter agreement to signal the importance of developing a high-quality youth sport coaching workforce.

iCoachKids and England Athletics have very close related objectives to improve the health, wellbeing and participation of children and young people in sport and physical activity services. iCoachKids aims to create a common space for coaches as well as providing a series of open source materials and courses easily accessible to all.

England Athletics has a proven track record in supporting coaches to ensure that sport is a positive experience for children and young people. As a grassroots and development body, England Athletics aims to inspire more athletes and runners of all abilities and backgrounds to fulfil their potential and have a lifelong love for the sport; hence their creation of funetics – a fun athletics programme for children aged 4-11 years.

A strong alliance between iCoachKids and England Athletics would promote sharing of knowledge, create new networks and allow for the joint development of international resources and materials that promote shared objectives.

"“To be able to work with iCoachKids and increase the reach of our extensive coaching support for children’s coaches, is very exciting. We hope this working relationship will further complement our vast experience and expertise of young children centred programmes, including our newest programme – funetics and to also help us share our experience in running youth events and competitions”."

Scott Grace, National Technical Lead for Youth & Resource Development, England Athletics

"This is fantastic news for iCoachKids and coaches across the globe. England Athletics is completely committed to developing a world-class coaching workforce for youth sport and being able to cooperate with them and share their resources with the rest of the world will add incredible value to iCoachKids."

Director of iCoachKids, Dr. Sergio Lara-Bercial
